Can you defeat death? Can you escape your fate? In this the fourth installment of the Final Destination franchise, these questions are once again posed to a group of unsuspecting college kids and those around them. Taking a page from the reality of the race track accident which killed fans in the stands several years ago, a scenario which before that accident would seem preposterous, the main characters of the film are carefree as they enjoy the thrill of potentially seeing a car race, which one character notes is only good if there is a wait for it….car crash. Although this is a bit over the top for foreshadowing, Final Destination fans know that this too shall pass and move on to some graphic death scenes, and in this respect, this movie does not disappoint.

Yes, I know what you are thinking! No way could this be good. Too many cliches and teenage debauchery have to have dragged this down. Honestly, it was much tamer than would be expected and most everything was left to the imagination, which is key in creating real horror, as honestly who really needs to see a leg being crushed in an escalator, a la Final Destination 3D.

This suspense filled drama took my breath away. Where most movie plots are entirely predictable, this cannot be said of The Perfect Getaway. With more twists and turns than the path taken by the newlywed main characters during their honeymoon hike to an idyllic location, you are left guessing until the last second.

Long time hero of mine and pretty much most men's idol (whether they admit it or not), Tucker Max has his much anticipated movie release this Friday in theaters. I Hope They Serve Beer in HELL is based on the true story of Tucker Max and his exploits.
