Boone's Bar and Grill recently opened on King Street, taking the place of Majestic Grill.

Bucky Parks, a 2010 College of Charleston graduate, opened the bar and grill with his family in November, 2010. The family completely revamped the space. The family focus permeates throughout the restaurant, from the spot's name (named after the family Golden Retriever) to the food itself. "Almost all of our dishes are family recipes," Parks says. "It's straight home cooking: fresh, top of the line meat, nothing frozen."

Aside from the food, the bar offers drink and nightlife specials, including $1 Pabst Blue Ribbons during happy hour, $2 bourbon and vodka all day Tuesday, and 35-cent wing night, trivia, and Ladies' Night on Wednesdays. Sundays include the Sports Game of the Week, which features the restaurant making a dish from each team's home state. The restaurant plans to expand their nightlife soon, with the addition of a comedy night.
